Cyberpunk 2077 Console Impressions – Game Informer

0

After eight long years, Cyberpunk 2077 is here, and with it comes an … interesting week of discussion and analysis. The game drew high praise from the Game Informer EIC himself, Andrew Reiner, saying CD Projekt Red’s new open-world adventure is an incredible, yet imperfect, exercise in world-building and role-playing.

But as console fans start to experience the game for themselves, it has become clear that the Xbox and PlayStation version of Cyberpunk is quite different from the PC entry (which was used for the GI review). By now, you’ve probably seen a plethora of bugged-out characters and silly glitches throughout the neon-soaked streets of Night City, but how bad are the technical problems in practice?

Join Andrew Reiner, Matt Miller, Blake Hester, and me as we set out to answer that question and discuss our time playing the game on Sony and Microsoft’s machines. We discuss the visual hitches, NPC glitches, and more, while also letting you know if you should wait to play the game on your console of choice.

A reminder: the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 versions of Cyberpunk 2077 are backward-compatible entries of the game, and the optimized entries won’t be out until sometime next year.

If you’re enjoying CD Projekt Red’s newest title, or you’re wanting to learn more before picking it up, be sure to check out our video review showing off the highs and lows of the game.
